Help bring a free book every month to every child under five in Nunavut
Early literacy changes the course of a child’s life — and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is one of the most effective, lowest-cost ways to deliver it. This proposal asks Nunavut’s municipalities and community partners, together with the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut, to fund territory-wide enrolment so every child under five can receive a free, age-appropriate book each month, at no cost to families.

A funded path to a book in every child’s hands
This proposal calls on both the local partners who run the program today — municipalities, libraries, and community organizations — and the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut to fund territory-wide enrolment in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library so that every child under five in Nunavut receives a free book each month, regardless of family income. Early literacy is one of the highest-return investments Nunavut can make — we need more of it, and we ask both local partners and the Legislative Assembly to fund it.
